Miyatsu, operating as an OEM for over 50 years, has channelled that experience to form an entity, Powerchip Semiconductor Equipment (PSE), to provide the foundational support that these companies need.
“We have strategically positioned PSE at the forefront of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment market to provide optimal process equipment platforms to the semiconductor startups,” says Joshua Riordan, international marketing manager at PSE.
PSE allows its clients, primarily startups, to focus on the marketing and innovation aspect of their business. They can then redirect their management resources towards process development and market expansion, assured of their manufacturing needs by PSE. They aren’t burdened with establishing a complex and time-consuming supply chain. Instead, they can access Miyatsu’s state-of-the-art foundry mass production factory and PSE’s agile and responsive supply chain network, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. This approach highlights PSE’s commitment to keeping its clients ahead in the semiconductor industry with tangible benefits.
PSE’s extensive service outreach depends on Miyatsu’s production setup at the Tohoku Plant in Japan, which oversees the OEM production business.
Upon receiving the necessary materials, PSE works to assemble, calibrate and fine-tune the equipment before delivering it within the agreed-upon timeframe. The delivery is supervised by technicians who conduct the on-site installation, adjustments and testing at the client facility. Staying ahead of the curve, PSE organizes quarterly production planning meetings with its clients to understand their requirements and make necessary adjustments and enhancements. It conducts quarterly procurement planning meetings with its suppliers to adhere to the new client requirements. This close-knit communicative environment between its supplier and client fostered by PSE ensures exceptional efficiency in its service delivery.
In order to stay one step ahead of the market trend, PSE has also launched its own line of original branded equipment. PSE’s standout batch-ashing products – MG6500R/MG8500R and single-wafer ashing MG200 use dry processes to remove thick photo-resist material from power semiconductors, especially SiC substrates, have received industrywide praise for its innovation and user-friendliness. This product provides a key part of the semiconductor manufacturing process: removing impurities or organic matter from the wafer and is a key part of the business strategy of PSE as the use of SiC and GaN substrates continues to grow in an era of e-mobility and green energy.
As the demand for semiconductors further increases, more and more businesses will enter this lucrative field. PSE is here to ensure that they have a foundational edge, freeing them to focus exclusively on their business and technological growth.
