NOVA’s edge lies in material orchestration. It sources and qualifies silicon, sapphire, glass, silicon carbide, quartz, SOI and advanced III-V and II-VI epitaxial wafers in diameters ranging from 1 to 12 inches. Each order is managed end-to-end through a trusted global network, ensuring materials arrive to spec, on schedule and ready for integration. Capabilities, including thermal processing, custom oxidation and metal deposition, further prepare wafers for the next stage of device creation.

When customers send specifications or masks for prototype development, NOVA refines the process to improve yield and manufacturability, often helping clients reach their final device faster and at lower cost than they could on their own.
This coordination model is designed for seamless collaboration. A single customer’s order may involve as many as four vendors, each handling a distinct stage of wafer preparation or finishing. NOVA’s long-standing relationships across this network ensure consistent quality and quick turnaround. For instance, when a client requires a silicon wafer with etched cavities, NOVA manages the entire process, sending wafers to trusted service houses for precision dry etch work, validating the results and returning a ready-to-use substrate for device fabrication.
NOVA plays a meaningful role in education and research. At a recent symposium, company representatives met with engineering students who were unaware of the full range of wafer services and substrates available to them. NOVA used that opportunity to demonstrate how material selection and process alignment influence device performance. Since then, multiple university projects have expanded into deeper collaborations, with NOVA helping grad students prototype components that contribute to real-world advancements.
